Blue Swallow Motel, Tucumcari, NM

Five years ago, a friend and I went out to lunch. She had news. She and her husband were buying the Blue Swallow Motel. How exciting. It was at a time when COVID was just beginning to spread, but off they went to drive Route 66 from Illinois to Tucumcari, NM, to make a new home there.

In those five years, they've experienced ups and downs, yet continued the Blue Swallow Route 66 tradition of welcoming visitors from all over the world. They've lovingly restored it to its original glory, and their hard work and passion are evident.
